PEOPLE YOU WILL MEET ON YOUR VISIT:

Clinical Team
We see patients on Tuesday mornings. Every appointment includes visits with the MS specialist and a child neurologist to monitor disease status and response to treatment. A pediatric MS nurse specialist is available to consult on medications, and other specialists are available as needed.

Patient and Family Support Team
The patient and family support team includes a family counselor and a child psychiatrist who help patients and families address emotional, social, and family issues associated with MS.

Education Team
The education team consists of a neuropsychologist and an educational liaison. Between 70 and 80 percent of our patients receive neuro-cognitive assessments. Our education specialists observe children in classrooms and interact with school systems to provide help for children who need additional support.

Rehabilitation Team and Subspecialty Referrals
The rehabilitation team consists of physical, occupational, and speech therapy specialists. In addition, the team facilitates referrals to subspecialty services including urology and neuro-ophthalmology. We have developed close partnerships with clinicians at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and the Spaulding Pediatric Rehabilitation Center to provide advanced subspecialty care for patients who require these services.
